What is Tekelepekele?

Tekelepekele is an Afro-Finnish, small scale clothing brand founded by Mirjam Yeboah in 2021.

The name Tekelepekele is a play on words stemming from the Finnish colloquial word "tekele", meaning a humble and pleasant artifact made (often by hand) by a person.

Tekelepekele gives all bodies the possibility to feel their best, starting from the clothes nearest to you. Our main focus is on adjustable, comfortable and handmade lingerie. We also make custom garments by request.

Our goal is to offer beauty and comfort to bodies of various shapes, sizes and abilities while upholding our values of diversity and sustainability.

Tekelepekele is in many ways a one-person enterprise. Mirjam designs, manufactures, markets and runs the business mostly by themselves, but all the work could not be possible without creative souls and helping hands around them. That's why we refer to Tekelepekele as "We/Us". As firmly as we at Tekelepekele believe in strong people and strong will, we also believe in community and vulnerability. We are working together against a harsh society, for equality and justice. 

The team works in three languages, English, Swedish and Finnish.
